Este artigo busca discutir a relação do entendimento musical de notas musicais, que integram uma melodia, com a capacidade conhecida como ouvido absoluto e com as habilidades pertinentes ao chamado ouvido relativo. Aborda a questão da lógica de compreensão de notas musicais por meio da descrição de uma “capacidade de orientação tonal” dentro da forma diatônica. Entende-se que, em lugar do reconhecimento de alturas fixas, é o reconhecimento dos graus de uma melodia que nos garante a capacidade de entendimento musical. Uma breve revisão bibliográfica de alguns textos pertinentes ao assunto é produzida.

Abstract
This article aims to discuss the relationship of musical understanding of musical notes, which form a melody, with the ability known as absolute pitch and skills relevant to the call relative pitch. It deals with the logic of understanding of musical notes through the description of a "capacity for tonal orientation" in the diatonic form. It is understood that, instead of the recognition of fixed pitches, is the recognition of degrees of a melody that guarantees us the ability to understand music. A brief review of some texts relevant to the subject is produced.
