O presente trabalho apresenta uma possível contribuição da psicologia social, mais especificamente a pesquisa a respeito das funções sociais da música, para questões concernentes à prática da disciplina Apreciação Musical. A música pode assumir diferentes funções na sociedade, cada função suscita uma forma de relacionamento entre música e indivíduo, o que, por sua vez, atua diretamente sobre a maneira como o objeto musical será apreciado.

Abstract
The present work introduces a possible contribution from Social Psychology, more specifically the research about social functions of music for questions referring to the practice of Music Appreciation as a discipline. Music can perform different functions in society and each of them is able of evoking a form of relationship between music and person, which acts directly upon the way the musical object will be appreciated.
